Lake in the Central Highlands of Afghanistan, Hazarajat, close to Bamyan. The region has several lakes (called Band-i Amir as far as I recall), and these are the only lakes in Afghanistan I know of... The blue is breathtakingly beautiful and a striking comparison to the arid landscape around it. The Taliban planted landmines around the area.
